A Texas native of Nigerian descent, Tunde Oyeneyin knew her life would be forever changed when she joined the leading interactive fitness platform, Peloton.
Using her voice as a force to bridge the divide between all humans everywhere, Tunde has long known her mission is to Create Great Change in our world; today, her success and recognition has surpassed her wildest dreams. Each day, she sets out to inspire, uplift, connect, motivate and stand for good — both on and off the bike.
Tunde began her career as a professional makeup artist and brand educator for some of the most sought after beauty lines in the world. For over 15 years, she harnessed and developed her passion for “gifting people with confidence,” as she puts it, by teaching people how to feel empowered and strong. After she took her first studio cycling class, something became very clear to Tunde: she unclipped from the bike and knew she would be cycling for the rest of her life, with a premonition that one day, she would be teaching on one of the world’s largest platforms.
Tunde struggled with her body image and self confidence throughout her entire childhood and into her adult life, until fitness offered her a greater form of self love. Eventually, she realized her true calling was to motivate people to join her in becoming the best version of themselves.
After starting out as a cycling instructor in Los Angeles, Tunde landed a coveted spot on Peloton’s superstar instructor team. On any given day, she trains up to 20,000 live riders through her motivational and unifying classes. “Team Tunde” knows they can always rely on her to show up as her authentic self, ready to inspire.
Tunde has overcome great loss in her life, but prevailed to guide people towards resilience, transforming tragedy into triumph and realizing her life’s mission was to S.P.E.A.K. (Surrender, Power, Empathy, Authenticity, Knowledge). Tunde founded The S.P.E.A.K. Movement, which inspired her to launch her Instagram LIVE Series of the same name, S.P.E.A.K. The series spotlights stories and voices of those who have thrived and shown resilience in the face of adversity. Celebrities such as Venus Williams, Common, Cynthia Erivo, Allyson Felix, and Mel Robbins have all joined as featured S.P.E.A.K. guests. Tunde’s goal with this series is to give the listener space to find commonalities in all that makes us different in order to create a life of acceptance and peace. Tunde uses her voice daily in classes, her Instagram Live series and various speaking engagements — and her ability to command a room through her unparalleled positive energy allows the audience to discover a newfound hope to go back into the world ready to Create Great Change.
She is currently expanding on this idea in her forthcoming book Speak, an empowering, inspiring book that shows how she transformed grief, setbacks, and flaws into growth, self-confidence, and triumph, which will be published by Avid Reader Press in 2022.
Tunde has recently been featured for her powerful work on The TODAY SHOW, Access Live, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, Vogue and more.
